im sorry but to me that is just another STI(Impreza in other countries). to me WRX's & STI's are becoming like honda's(sorry to you honda lovers, its just every kid gets one and has his momies money fix it up). the thing with Legacy owners is that its so damn hard to get parts(ie. expensive for parts), that legacy owners are more like the old school muscle care(real car owners. i know ill get shit for that, but i have my 65 chevy so STFU). when a impreza(WRX, STI) comes out looking original than call me(i have have had some drinks tonight, but i dont care what you think of my speech).

Didn't know you all felt that way sorry. Well I can agree with the "honda" ref but this one was a kinda present. My roommate loved my legacy sedan and was "bit by the subaru bug" as we call it. His mother died two years ago and he has since inherited some money to pay for school a house and behind her pension was told to get something he really wanted. So sorry if he got an STI. He is becoming a real Subaru lover and this will not be riced out. At our house we have three first gen legacies one N/A a turbo wagon and a turbo sedan.

You do realize the Impreza WRX STI has been made since 1994 right? People in the US are just now starting to catch on about these cars, they have been in Europe and other markets for over a decade.

I like the car however the Rotas look cheap. Also, does he have a larger overall diameter tire on the car? The tires look big and the wheels look small for some reason.

That's kind of funny how you said that because I remember some friends of mine having a discussing about how today's sport compact scene is just an extension of the muscle car enthusiasts during their hayday, and one of them (restored a Charger all by himself and then some) mentioned that today's enthusiast relies too much on companies making stuff for them instead of them doing things like grinding your own camshafts, welding up your own exhaust, making your own parts, implementing stuff found on other cars into yours, etc...

So while I do agree that Legacy parts are significantly harder to find, theyre still out there, being made by someone. It's just a matter of having the right sources and knowing the right people, and most important a deep enough wallet. I don't think we as a group have taken it as far as the musclecar guys of old or even some other car enthusiasts with cars that have nearly non-existent aftermarkets.

That's still a nice STi, and nice photos. While these turbo cars have popularized subaru into the mainstream, I don't think having any particular car model makes you a more "purer" supporter of the brand.

Dude don't even worry about it. Keep posting up pics, whenever wherever you take them.

Get creative though, try for long exposures and what not. Warrior will be able to give you some tips.

Ya they are 225/50. came with a set and were replaced with same.

+1, the 2004 - 2005 are my favorite impreza body styles. The way the headlights are arranged and the front fascia just strikes my fancy for some reason.

Im sorry if i offended you-- I never said i disliked any of your cars. I definitely do think that STi is very nicely modded, and am not saying all impreza owners are not subie fans, but thats just the trend ive noticed. Still love to hear the boxer rumble of wrx turbos :cool:

Ya the gl was amazing and my dad owned it, tinted, red, white wheel, cleanest car ever until we were cut off when I was like 5 and i got thrown through the windshield. That was the last car my dad has ever put money into to modify or keep clean. Sad really

Yea! Photography is where it's at! I don't want to criticize your pictures because they are good, but one word of advice. When I was an amateur photographer, I'd always try to frame the car into the picture so perfectly in the middle.. and it's not a bad choice, but to even make the picture more compelling.. frame the car in the corner of the entire frame (like you did in the first picture) and allow the rest of the background to suck the viewer into the image!

You should read about the Rule of Thirds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds). Your pictures will be so much more captivating :smt023

My step-father is a professional photographer. He too has advised me to avoid centering in photography. Your pictures are pretty sweet though.

Centering isn't wrong.. but just as long as it's not smack in the middle. Let's take your avatar for example.. it looks good, even with the car in the middle.

When the subject is in the lower part of the frame, the picture gives the viewer a feeling of closeness. When subjects are in the upper part of the image, the image gives a feeling of depth or distance. Subjects in the middle don't give neither feelings and leaves the viewer with a confused or indifferent feeling.

Something else you want to look out for is objects in the background that take away from the image. That tree line in the middle, behind the Legacy is really really distracting because it's fighting for attention over the car.. same with that stump on the left side all by it's lonesome.

This is the power of retouching and what it can do for an image. Now the car is the most apparent subject in the picture and the background compliments the main subject.. not trying to fight for it's attention. In the first pic, my eyes were right away drawn to that stump and the tree.. the car was there, but it wasn't a picture like "wow!" Just remember, simplicity is sexy! :smt023

I will definatly keep in mind where i take my shots now and fully observing whats around them. Honestly I didn't even give that tree or stump a second glance until now!

I do use Photoshop... I'm no master though, but maybe one day! I'm still learning.. the learning never stops :smt022
