View Full Version : PS leaking, is it the pump?
There's some PS fluid pooling up on the block right below/behind the pump. I can't see where it's coming from, but i can just see that it's there. Is it the pump? Or is there another common failure point behind there?

my pump was doing the same thing.. it can either be the pump.. or one of the fittings on there. Supposedly its a pretty easy install.. and you can get another one for decently cheap.

mostlikely the pump. the reservoir can some times leak
So basically I'd be safe to buy a new pump or get one at the junkyard before removing the existing one i guess?
Just don't want to buy a new one and then find that the problem is somewhere else..

the only other thing that can cause PS to leak on the top of the block. is the lines that go to the PS pump. make sure those are tight. and the rubber on is sealed well
The hoses are all pretty dry so don't think it's either of those lines. I took off the reservoir today and pretty sure it's not leaking from the reservoir so must be the pump. Do you think getting a used one from a dismantler is a good idea, or should i get a remanned one? I'm sure the pump from a dismantler will be a lot cheaper but i'm afraid it'll eventually leak again
