I have been doing some research and I am reading that some OEM struts/springs from other Subaru will cause a SAG factor (rear lower than front by a lot) among the 1997 Legacy Wagon.

Will putting 04 STi springs/struts do the same?

Or are there only certain years that cause the sag?

Appreciate the help

legacy wagons have fatter asses than most other subarus, so yes, you will see some sag. paraniod fabrications makes shims (http://www.camotoy.com/products/saggybutt/index.php) to put between the top hat and chassis in the rear that will help this.

Thank you jamal. Do you have any recommendations which one to get for the STi suspension,a nd which amount of spacer is best to get rid of sag?

Appreciate the help. :smt006

I think deadlydave recommended that i get 1/2" spacers, but then i said i had a sedan so it was fine.

i think 1/2" should do the trick for your wagon. I have a 97 Sedan, and there is the SLIGHTEST sag in the back, but it still looks good.

You think I should get the 3/4 to be safe, or 1/2 is good for the wagon?

There was another Outback guy on Nasioc I talked to last night, he said with his car on 04 sti/springs/struts he has 1.25" wheel gap in the front, and -1/4" (wheel in fenders) in the back.

Sound accurate to you?

As far as I know, he does not make them in 3/4" (and you would need to get new bolts for your tophats because they aren't long enough I don't think). Some people on nasioc were talking about stacking them, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea.. Take some measurements though, 1/2" is bigger than it sounds.
