radiator support install

ok I have a 96 legacy that needs a new radiator support. What I need to know is how do I line it up right so when I weld it on and put everything together it fits correctly?

Take you bumper/fenders off. Looking at the engine bay from the front. Measure the top left fender bolt hole to the bottom right fender bolt hole. Then again from Top right bolt hold to bottom left bolt hole.

If the measurements are correct, this means that your frame is straight.

From there you mark off the original rad support spot welds. Then remove the old rad support.. line up the rad support to the old weld marks. and re-weld.

More info:
take measurements from the frame rails to the rad support. also take measurements from the alternator to the rad support. Draw all your measurements on a piece of paper.

With these original specs you should be able to align everything up perfectly.

You can skip the measuring the fender bolt holes if you know your frame is straight. In the past even though a customer thinks there frame is straight it usually isn't.
