I just bought a full front and rear suspension off a 06 WRX with 31K. I have a 98 BK and I was wondering what kind of change in ride height/stance this setup is going to give me? Am I going to have the saggy butt unless I use the spacers?

I'd like to know as well. I found a set off an 05 WRX sedan with 26K for cheap.

Couldn't pass up the deal. Hope they aren't bent in half.....

Well..... let's have a race to see who gets 'em installed first, then we can measure for ourselves. I'll throw a dead hooker in the trunk to make up the sedan/wagon weight difference.

haha thats funny. I was under the impression that sedans dont have the saggy butt problem. I plan on using the 1/2" Spacers to make up for it.

Mine is a little saggy. Plus my rear struts are soft. And clunky. This sucks, after I get them installed I'm going to want to upgrade sway bars, endlinks, bushings..... it's a never ending process, me and my cars. And to think I almost made it a year without MAJOR mods.... :smt011

Struts just got here! Maybe if I get bored they will be on my car tomorrow....

Not bad. A little dirty, but no leaks or visable damage. Off an 05, 26K, $170 shipped.

Edit: Just noticed how bent the tophat looks in the picture. Because it is. Yay.

I wish one of the knowledgable members would answer my original question..

You're not going to get an answer because not a lot of people have done the specific 06 WRX suspension conversion. A lot of people have done 02-03 WRX, Sybir I think is the only person with 04 WRX TEINs.

But the curb weight is about the same, so you will probably be fine. The only issue might be the rear springs, as with any suspension going sedan->wagon you tend to get physical sag - not just visual.

*shrug* I really don't know, and I probably never will do it myself as I have a set of Legacy specific King Springs going on soon, hopefully.

I'm really sorry I never posted a DIY on this. :-( Shame on me.

Looking at the 06 pics that were posted, they look just like the setup I was running, bugeye struts and springs with 04-05 rear tophats/mounts. Even in my sedan, i had physical rear sag. This was long before the spacers came out. So i just dumped the car on tien s-techs (for 04-05 GD's) which leveled it out (due to the severe front drop they have).

You may actually GAIN ride hieght, I did. 3 blown stock struts and 1 broken spring(WTF!?). Here, have some pics.
Stock WRX suspension (notice rear sags a little)

After reading Deadlydave's post i am not going to use the stock springs. I thought I would get some lowering but I guess I actually gain ride height!

The S-Techs look like they really level out the difference. Did you (deadlydave) have to still use spacers for the rear struts?

Does anyone recommend any other type of spring for this aplpication (06 on a BK)?

STechs are really only a cosmetic lowering spring. They don't have the rebound/spring rate characteristics of a performance spring.

If you can, snag some Eibach's or Tanabe GF-series, they have an excellent reputation for being performance-street appropriate.

thanks I will look into those brands ...

No, I did not use the spacers.

Yes, the S-techs are pretty horrible springs. The car Looked sick, but rode like ass, had insane bump-steer, and didn't handle any better.

I can't afford to go any lower than I already am. I already bottom out enough and almost got highsided where I like to go and get dirty..... :smt011
