rear wiper for wagon

Nothing is really wrong with it.. over the weekend I sanded it and painted it flat black but I have a question I replaced it with a Annco contour blade and the middle part for the whole arc never touches the glass. How can I adjust it so it at least touches that part?

Dealership quoted me $38 on a new assembly arm so if they sell just the spring it wont be much. I have a Bosch Icon and I get the same thing :smt005

I doubt the dealer sells a part as simple as a spring? might as well replace the whole thing?

Dealership sells things as simple as nuts, bolts screws etc etc. To be honest, I didnt want to be out 40$ and have the new assembly not have enough tension to press it on either. I may just cut a rung or two off the spring since Ive got the whole arm off the BK now anywho. If so Ill snap some pics for a quick DIY thread :smt023

You could just take the spring off, go into a hardware store and find a matching spring... or even an autoparts store.

only luck on finding a spring is a hardware/autoparts store. or a specialty hardware shop. the dealers dont sell just the spring or just not listed in the parts book, maybe they have in there computer system?

I've said this before, too. You can go to almost any Generic Autoparts store , and for less than half the money get the same results. If your wiper arm's not rusted, try this and save the rest for the blade.

well the whole arm is starting to rust again but then again I did not sand it when I painted it because I did not think it would take me that long to decide if I wanted to keep it or replace the spring.

try to find one of those wiper spoilers that Subaru put on the later model year cars..

my driver side does that when I drive at 70 when it starts to rain the driverside will miss the a little on the upswing but it hit the part it missed on the downswing

this is with the icon wipers.

At speeds past 50ish the wiper will have a bit of lift off depending on the vehicles front profile IE how the air is coming up over the hood and the profile of the windshield.

cheaper just to find a model with it or just go to the dealer.. I forget if I need the whole driver arm or just a clip on piece.

ill look into it, but they are doing it all the time, even at a rest...though an upgrade never hurt anyone :grin:
