Full 2006 STI Exhaust to 98 Legacy GT?

How much work would need to be done to get a fully stock 2006 sti exhaust to fit on my 98 legacy gt?

Header's won't fit, unless you have a swapped engine.
Rear hanger on the axle-back won't fit without hanger modification.

From the headerback, I would say it will take a decent exhaust shop around $250 to install correctly.
The midpipe or axle-back will probably need lengthening

Is there much difference between a 98 RS and 98 GT exhaust?

Yep, midpipe length. The RS is shorter than the GT, and the wagons are even longer... wagon > sedan.

The cat-back portion of the STI exhaust will fit if an exhaust shop cuts the cat-pipe flange and lengthens/rotates it. I had mine done for $100. There's no need to make the rest of it fit unless you are trying to turbo your car.

I'm guna do this I hope it sounds alright. Its the Cheapest way to get more power out of an exhaust system and its almost the perfect diameter.

sorry to say huffer but youre wrong.. they bolt right up. you just need a up pipe turbo and downpipe to make it work out..

take out the turbo and just a custom pipe from the up to dp. like those weird jdm n/a setups

One of the aftermarket WRX headers can be made to work for the N/A's...just need to be custom all the way to the exhaust tip...or at least up to the start of the catback...

You have to get a specific kind of header, I think it one from ebay with the UP is NOT integrated into the header.

typically the only reason you would ever use a WRX or STi manifold or header is when youre going to turbo your ej25. However, as shown previously, there is one specific WRX ebay header that could be made to work on an N/A application if you don't mind doing some extra work.

Also, the WRX ebay headers seem to make the "rumble" more pronounced than even the borlas because of the way the exhaust pulses run into each other in that design.

sold!...so how do you tell what kind? does it exit to the rear instead of up like the stockers?

what needs to be done? just make a custom cat-pipe? or a custom pipe to conect with the cat pipe?

looks like a custom pipe from the header to cat is all that is needed and the headers are only ~105 shipped
