I went to the dealer to pick up a water pump gasket along with some bulbs for the HVAC and turns out they don't fit at all.. they are too long..

they gave me part number: 72351AC051 what really sucks is I ordered two of them :-/ on the good note is I can order them in LED's now that I know they wont fit..

seems like this is only meant for the fan speed selection

they only gave you the blue based bulb?

yeah... turns out that only fits where you turn the dial for the fan speed.. I already ordered white LED's to replace the green that went out... the guy in parts was like I only see two bulbs listed.. not sure where he misunderstood but I said "OK I need all for the HVAC controls"

they have a part number now just for the small bulbs but I won't bother with it now... I will see what happens when these LED's come in since I don't get a long one like the OEM that lights up the fan speed and the words "A/C"

You could of also gone to radio shack and got this: pt no: 272-1092. They fit perfectly in the housings.(Just remember to follow the wiring guide on this site...I forgot to and clipped the wires too much).

have any pics of those installed ?
do they look like the light fills up the hvac, or are their obvious "hot spots" of light?

When I did mine, I just left the green condom off and it gave me the same effect. I followed the DIY thread for the Radio Shack bulbs. Everything went smooth with no downsides. Although, It does make it easier on the total install time if you goto the dealer and get the bulbs and sockets already set up.

the radio shack bulbs are ok if you just want something other then green.. but the color is still too warm for my tastes.

Swapped out the radioshack bulbs for the LEDs, so much better. Also swapped out the maplights and domelight with LEDs too. (pt num : 3022-CWHP2 off the superbrightleds.com site).

too bad I don't have any map lights...

but yeah the LED's are much better.

I will install a 3W Cree LED in my dome light when I have the extra money.
