So in my driveway there is a 98 Legacy L 5 spd just sitting there waiting for my decision on to either fix it up and keep it, sell it as is (not working) or just go nuts and part it out. It's not in horrible shape, but it's not in great shape either. It needs a water pump, and cylinder heads (bent valves). So if you want to shoot me an offer before I decided what I want to do with it PM me. :smt023

dont sell it as is, if you must sell it I would say fix it first, but the best decision to me seems like you should make yourself a nice daily driver/beater

How much to get it running again? What's the problem? It could be a donor for parts...

It might have bent valves. When you try to start it, it backfires. Needs a new water pump, battery, tail light. Theres is a lot less rust of this thing than my car. Body has some scratches and dings in it. The interior is filthy though. So bad that I don't even want to clean it lol. I'll make a list to see what it would cost to put it on the road legacy and go from there.

it may just be cheaper to get a used 2.2l from the junkyard than trying to rebuild the engine...

Well the heads on my sedan will be swapped over to this one. I don't need to do the cam seals or anything. I may just look into a cost of a used engine like you suggest. I'm still going through the car. I just noticed it needs a front passenger side axle :roll:

Where did you get this car? It looks identical to my uncle's old L. It convinced me to get a legacy. The smell would make sense too.
