Arite, so I've got the unit out. (Holy hell, was the E-clip holdin the cable down a b**** btw lol)
I popped off the slider and pulled the unit apart to get to the A/C button to Sharpie it blue :smt004

--But I'm having trouble getting to the indicator lights that are the only remaining green :-S

However, popping off the fan part:

..seems it's releasing the circuit board in order to get to the ugly green plastic underneath that colors
the indicator lights (so I can Sharpie that puppy blue, too):

BUT, I can't get the damn thing to come off :-( It comes out fairly loose on the bottom end that's held
by one tab, but won't budge more than maybe 3mm out on the top that's held by two tabs.

I think I need to flip over the unit and pop off the actual fan knob first, but I don't know how without
deforming or scratching the surrounding plastic that I kinda already did a little:

Like the 5th pic down, http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=337580 (but I don't think there's a light inside).

..Any suggestions??? :sad5:

Thanks guys!!

Hey that looks pretty good. As for the indicator lights or whatever i'm not sure. You would have to pop the buttons off to find out. Heresmymind did all his in pink, He said to pop buttons off but I never tried it out yet.

Popping buttons doesn't seem it would work since the green plastic surrounds it.. ?

For some reason I was thinking that was part of the button too. I messed with my for a short time and I put it away before I put a hammer to it.

Ha! Ya, that's probly what I shoulda done, but I figure if I break something, my vents are already broken so I guess getting another HVAC unit wouldn't be all bad

what do you want to do. change the color of the lindicator lights? replace bad one? IIRC there colored LED's with no color cover there made green or orange(def) and i think they sit inside of the cover plate flush. i have a bad HVAC control floating around ill tear it apart since some of the button dont work take pics and how to

I circled the "prob area" in the 1st pic lol, but yes-- if you think you have the solution, please post your pics:)
[..Green lights are obviously a result from the surrounding green plastic though if you check out my 3rd pic:-S]

Nope, that's what I did lol. U still end up with the small green lights under the "pictures" (like the small green light on your DS door window switch:-S O well, no worries. I don't care anymore, I'm puttin my car up for sale later today anyway.. That is, if I can decide whether to sell my BD with the JDM upgrades (headlights, fogs, tails) or sell them separately to make more $$$. I'm just opening an auto repair shop so I need as much $$$$$ as I can get :-S
