Since I'm thinking about putting a system in my car, including a sub that would take up trunk space, I was looking at bike rack options.
Unfortunately I don't have any cross bars for a roof-mounted system and I'm not sure a trunk-mounted rack would work because of the spoiler. I could be wrong though. Has anyone used a trunk system with the factory spoiler?
I'm sure I could get a rack with the crossbars and have that all installed but I'm sure it'd be more money than I really want to spend.
Edit- Yakima rack, with mountain bike mount, is $513.00
Do the Yakima racks need to be drilled into the roof to secure, or do they rely solely on the Q-Clips?

the just use the q-clips. i have a roof mount rack. i reccommend getting the fairing. otherwise the front bar wistles in the wind. you can try craigslist and just try to find the q-tower(the newest style), and correct length bars. or just the towers. and buy the correct q-clips and bars.

So the Q clips just clip onto the car? That's the only way they connect?
I spec'd out what I'd need for my car then went to eBay to try and piece a system together myself. First I found the Q clips and then I went to try and get the cross bars, fairing, etc. when I came across someone selling everything but the clips. So I'll see how much they'd let it go for (instead of waiting 5 days for the auction) and throw in the clips and see where I'm at.
Apparently a buddy of mine knows someone who can get Thule racks for a huge discount, but I have a feeling the Yakima will be cheaper.

Should be all I need, minus the clips and a mountain bike mount, right?

yup that what you need minus the clips that attachment you want. the bars are right size, unless you want overlenght bars. and the fairing it the right size for the legacy. good deal. auctions ended btw

Thanks decke.
Yep, auction ended.......and it's on its way to me. I bought some clips from someone else too so all I need at this point is a mount for the bike.
