Hey kiddies. I didnt realize I had only posted in the member intro section, so Ill use this thread to update. Ive held off posting this up for a few months since Im not a fan of the "oh hay i installed jdm side markers like everyone else" threads. Rather, Ill try to keep this updated as I do significant mods or the minor ones pile up past what my hamster like memory can contain.

From my intro thread circa 10/16/08 :
KartBoy SS kit
KartBoy front and rear bushings
WRX Wheels
JDM Projectors
JDM Side Markers
4300k HID lows
Blacked Grill
Debadged
Deracked until repainted

Since then:
KYB GR2s
WhiteLine Control Springs
JDM Heated Folding Mirrors
JDM Kouki Tail Lights
JDM BG5 Driver Seat
Kouki Outback Front Bumper / Beam
Hella 500 Fogs
SPO Motorsports / Borla Axle Back
More Vinyl than a Trapper Keeper

Very clean. I like it. What are the future plans for it?

Thinking of a EJ205 or a EZ30 swap. Eventually I want to go with a Stance (http://www.stance-usa.com/sus/) coilover setup as the WhiteLine rides great, but isnt quite low enough for my tastes. WhiteLine rear bar and KB links are a must. Tinting the 7 windows as soon as the temp can stay above 32F for a week :smt005 .

Thanks  I had wanted the Tommy Kaira front originally

but with the cheapest one I could find, at 700$ shipped before paint, I figured the outback front was a nice middle road.I still get my huge ass fogs  and it doesnt draw as much attention as the TK would.

For wheels next Im thinking of either Gen3 Blitzens or those UK### wheels. I was told the seats were from a 96 GT-B and they came from Japan of course  .

Moar pics here if youd like to peruse http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/dd22 ... 3/Leggies/ (http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/dd223/MyogiNightKid13/Leggies/)

I wish my silver BK was that nice. Great work, the OB front bumper looks sweet. I didn't go with the whiteline springs for the same reason, but I bet they ride really well.

They ride amazing. Im wondering if the 22mm rear bar will be too much  . It stays FLAT in the corners. Flatter than my old 3 series even. The suspension height paid off at 2am today when on the freeway my car passed over a young opossum. Any lower and I would've been giving him a hair cut and the OB bumper some new paint!

Ive been debating yellow lamin-x on the fogs or at least yellow bulbs. I may but the stock rock guards (grills) on them as well.

What type of h.i.d.s you running in your fogs

What type of h.i.d.s you running in your fogs

No HIDs in the fogs. If I go HID theyll be as close as I can get to 3k, or I just may get yellow bulbs.

Since my lows are grounded it allows me to flick on my high beams while my low beams stay on, the downside is if I try to flash someone with my high beams, the lows will come on as well. Instead I use the fogs as signals so Im on the fence about HIDs for now as the flashing will kill the ballasts quite quickly.

Thanks! The only requirements I had when shopping for it were no rust and either silver, black or white color. Make sure you cut out all the old rust and a good 1-2" around it and weld in some fresh metal so that shizz doesn't come back. Unless its just little surface stuff.

Ill get some new daylight pics up soon! :smt023

Long story short. P/S pump was leaking and eventually managed to get to the timing belt. Timing belt said "this job sucks!" and punched out on the freeway literally by taking out one of the idler wheels (see that lonely bolt eerrrrr stud?) and the t belt cover. Which is now in about twenty pieces.

Heads come off this weekend. Stay tuned.

Right you are sir!

And all DOHC EJ's are interference engines for anyone wondering.

But, I think the "Phase 2" 2.2 began in 1999 when it got new heads and other things and looked similar to the SOHC 2.5. I could be wrong though.

TJ you might get lucky - a friend of mine has pulled TWO interference engines and discovered that when the t-belt went the valves didn't get bent...

Hope you get it back on the road soon!

Haha yeah, Id meant to make a build thread but kept getting drawn into the garage to finish it before I could get to a keyboard! Ill hang onto her for awhile  I'd still like to get back into something German eventually. Swap took a little over a month mainly because I found the engine a few days before bidding ended.( It's a JDM Forester GT EJ205 with 47k miles on it. Came with motor, tranny, harness, ecu, and fuel pump from JHot Texas. It uses a TF035, less aggressive cams, and doesn't use COP ignition.) Had to order a new T/B kit for it, seals, and decide which tranny (and clutch) I was going to run (it came with a 4.44). Ordered a new shift linkage with bushings.

I was the most anxious about wiring. But once I had labeled everything out of the stock ECU, cut that, and done the same to the JDM ECU there was maybe only 2 hours of soldering to do. And that was just 2x checking everything. Had to source a few unexpected parts as well like the turbo xmember. Speaking of here's the Frankenstein rundown:
04 STi CrossMember
04 STi Sway Brackets
BK Sway Bar
Custom USDM/JDM power steering lines
JDM P/S Pump
BK Alternator
BK A/C pump
BK Cruise
BK Trans/Transfer/Diff/Shafts

The last thing to do was install the JDM fuel pump, a few differences compared to the USDM. Once it was in and I had all the fluids in I left the pump unplugged, cranked it a few times to run the oil pump. Plugged the fuel pump in turned it "on" without cranking to pressurize the system, turned the key to start on the 5th try and tada! Started up like a champ!

After that I fabbed up a 2.5" midpipe (the d/p was 2.5" and my axleback was already 2.5") replaced the cracked JDM charcoal can, and put my USDM master cylinder breather/vacuum hose on since the hose I was using didnt have a check valve so my M/C was boosting as well! :smt005

It's a day and night difference, love it :smt007

glad you got it running again we just put the heads back on a 2000 impreza OBS that had been ruined by the a/c belt cut through the timing cover and derailed the timing belt. but hell we bought the car for 700 bucks and a pistol and i have done ALL of the work with my dad supervising and i offered him 1k for it haha so i should have a silver impreza OBS soon.... now i just gotta put my engine back together :D
