Hey, im trying to install some fogs i just got.

Well i managed to get my hands at a oem fog light switch at a local pull a part some months ago. Well the question is that the switch has 6 wires and i don't know which is for what?

I've search around here and i found this

1 3
--4
--5
2 6

#1- ground for the ON bulb.
#2- ground for the illumination bulb (this ground actually varies depending on the brightness of your dash)
#3- +12 volts when key is on ACC (powers both ON light and relay)
#4- +12 volts for illumination bulb when dash is illuminated
#5- out to relay
#6- same as above (can be used for another relay)

but how do i know which wire is which?
i mean the wires don't have #1 #2 and so on. lol

well, i want to wire them directly to the battery, using that switch to turn them on. which means i need to use # 1,3,4.
just need help telling which is which.

thanks for any help.

This picture might help:

Its the plug for the fog light switch. You can kinda see what color the wires are in each position.

Don't know if this will help, but I made this many years ago when I installed a second factoty fog switch for my driving lights.

On the two wires that say 'dimmer or fog light picture' I just tapped into one of the other switches that was the same color.

jhari, thanks for that diagram, it looks like it will come in handy!!

and MC2 i got the fog lights from a local pull a part. (u pull it junkyard). I was surprised they were still there because that had already taken the bumper.

woo reviving old threads lol another hijack my 99 brighton has a connector plugged into one of the switch "blocks" i picked up a fog switch from the wrecker and the wires on the harness from the switch i got are the same as the one already in the car, or atleast very similar from the quick glance i had when i was installing my tach, could anyone tell me if this would be for the fog switch or a cruise control switch i know both those switches are on the left side in my moms forester.

So you use the white with yellow stripe wire or the top yellow wire for a source of power for another set of fogs? I'm trying to wire up a second set of fogs I've had laying around and I'm having difficulties lol
