View Full Version : What doesn't fit: 215/55/16 on WRX wheels

Just did a test fit out of curiosity. Took my winter wheels off the XT and mounted one on the rear of the 97 L Wagon. It just barely touches the cup portion of the strut body. I think what's the blame here is the offset of the WRX wheel, ET55. Something a little further out from the strut would clear nicely. Shame as I have a new set of 215/60/16's I was hoping to mount on her car. Not unless I swap wheels for something else.
Throw a 3mm spacer on there.

O.o;; 60 on a 16" wheel for a Leggy? Ow...
I have WRX wheels - they are 205/50R16 from memory, and fit both my Impreza and Legacy (BF5) perfectly. That's the stock size for those puppies.

Nah, not gonna bother with spacers. ^^ Yes I know its no the perfect size but "paid for" tires would be nice. OEM size should be 205/55/16 which is what I'll probably end up getting. I wanted to post up so others would know what will not fit in case they are thinking of buying said setup untested.

You're also in New Zealand - the predominant place of manufacture here is USA, and the stock size for a USDM 95-99 Legacy running 16" wheels is 205/55/16. :)

Slightly larger... I see :) Handy to know.
Is the rest of the suspension et al the same? The clearances never seem to have much in them, and a little more beef on the stock size might make all the difference.
That said - a bigger wheel would look better on the 2nd gens :)
