contaminants in fuel *rant*

so the saturday on my way to nes super meet i filled up my tank, on the way back i get this misfiring/lean problem. like cylinders arent getting much fuel. fun 2.5hr drive home. i now its not igntion related. so maybe some bad gas? get the tank to empty(15.2 fillup) fill with some water remover fill the tank. still not gone. well ohh great, fuel pump going? so i go to check my fuel pressure. so i drain my fuel filter. huge chunk of sediment come out. so i deside to see if my fuel filter is working correct. cycle the key filling up the jug. great its not working chunks in the bottom of the jug. i guess my 3k old filter desides to shit the bed. so im going to have the fun of draining my tank and cleaning it, flushing my lines, cleaning out the fuel rails, and a new filter and pump screen.

well i figured out the cause at least. my fuel filter deside it doesnt want to stay together. so i have a mix of filter material and the glue they use to hold the filter to the case. :smt012

Is there a warranty on the fuel filter? If there is and it says something like "will replace engine due to failure"... :smt029

idk ill go see if there is probally tommorow. i would have to take it up with wix personal. autoparts stores will just give me new filter

Dude what you driving now since you totalled the GT?

Sorry to hear that, they should def. replace or fix for free. Nothing wrong was done on ur part, just the fact that you bought their crappy filter i guess.

i still drive my gt. :smt017 i never totaled my gt. the part out is a friends two week old gt that got hit & run. :lol: as for the filter is a quality highly regarded brand. i guess i just got the dud out of the supply (i look on the back of the filter. US parts, assembled in china :smt012 )
