All information can be found here: http://www.subaru.com/company/news/legacy2010.html

Along with all the pictures here: http://www.subaru.com/vehicles/legacy2010.html

The 2010 Subaru Legacy is wider, taller and longer than the previous generation but still offers the same good ol' fashioned boxer engine and symmetrical AWD.

For those of you who think this new Subaru looks familiar, it's because it looks almost identical to the Subaru Legacy Concept minus the LED-lights, shiny metallic paint and too-small mirrors.

The new legacy comes in three trim levels: Legacy 2.5i, Legacy 2.5GT, and Legacy 3.6R. The Legacy 2.5i is the base model and equipped with a 170 HP 2.5-liter fourbanger equipped with either a 6-speed manual or lineartronic CVT.

The turbocharged Legacy 2.5GT gets a 15 HP boost to 265 HP and comes only with a 6-speed manual, making it our choice. Though the six-powered Legacy 3.6R gets a slight increase in power to 256 HP to accompany the increase in displacement from the previous 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, it still remains less powerful than the 2.5GT and is only available with a 5-speed automatic.

I think I liked the concept better, but I do like the fact that the 2.5GT only comes with a 6 speed.

This upsets me. I REALLY liked the styling they were getting back to in '06 and '07. Really quite sad to see this.
Personally i prefer more agressive angular lines....hence buying a BH. Will be interesting to see what they mate to produce the wagon.

It looks nice and aggressive from the front but the rear end is just not keeping up with it all. Theres an 08 that I see almost everyday in my neighborhood and I love it (my favorite model year so far, besides my BE of course  ) too bad Subarus veering away from their originality to hop on the chubby sedan bandwagon.

The interior and headlights I have to admit look awesome though

and 6 spd GT ftw

i dont mind the front end now. the lights are a better without that led stuff.. i hate the bubble flares though. and the rear end is just ugly. looks like a honda accord/nissian maxima rear. wheels are ok, but just dont fill the wheel wells nice. the interior is good, little things i dont like, like the gray piece in the dash and door cards, the way the seat were stiched on the bottom, center console.
like Harald Heldt said
Bulbous and with mismatched lines

Group buy on 2009 Legacy's?

jey
04-01-2009, 11:38 AM
Yeah I don't like where Subaru has been heading lately. Now the Legacy is losing the frameless doors too, and where's my wagon? Though the wagon thing is a result of stupid CAFE rules - Subaru would rather sell you an Outback because it's considered a light truck.

Why is Subaru making cars that look like all others on the road? I guess cause older more unique Subarus sold to fans and enthusiasts - the newer cars appear to a larger market. It is a shame though, cause they are loosing the fans and enthusiasts with the newers styles.

I definitely dont hate it, its not offensive in anyway (like the new accord imo). Its just another new car to me, it doesnt appeal to the enthusiasts. I think it will grow on me like the impretzel has

i think it will grow on me too.. i like it.. BUT it's it is pretty generic. I think that's what the ppl @ subaru want, cars with power that blend into traffic and then become unique as soon as you push the pedal to the medal!
i don't like the single exhaust, i hope they have dual like all the 05-09's on the GT models or something..
i think the interior's sleek design and setup is pretty tight tho

thats not a bad point, blending in but still being unique. And I didnt even notice the single exhaust

Ummmm....Didn't Nissan already make that car? I do like the front end though.

It is a shame they are styling it after every other car on the road. One thing I love about my 2000 *my fav generation* is that it is a bit unique. I still have people ask me what kind of car I drive. Even though a 2000 is 'old' by car standards, it still gets some love.

You guys are all crazy. Do you really think people are going to suddenly pay MORE for an older vehicle just because the new one is released and all the "enthusiasts" don't like it? Have any of you paid any attention for the last, oh, 10 years?!? :smt021

on the subie website there's a picture of the 2010 subaru legacy 3.6R and it DOES have dual exhaust
so i'm expecting there WILL be dual exhaust on the GT models! which i also can't wait to see

In my opinion, it's not as bad as I had imagine from the concepts, but I still don't like it. At least the front end looks decent and they removed that horrible chrome piece on the rear end. The thing I just can't get past is how bubbly and oversized the fenders look. Overall, I think it looks pretty similar to the current generation, but much closer to a Camry/Accord. Subaru is trying to branch out and appeal to a more general crowd of car shoppers for sure.

I'll probably try one out when they hit the lots.
Hell, even the new wrx body style is growing on me.
I took an 09 hatch out for a spin last week, and it wasn't that bad. Way too small for me though.

really weird today, an infinity pulled up next to me and i though i was looking at this car instead lol

yay dual tailpipes!
also not a fan of the wheels..

nice camry.

poser 'dual' exhaust ftl.

FATTY.

no point of going to the NY auto show now.. looks like they wont let you sit in it.

the only thing that still looks subaru on it is the hood scoop looks like the 93(jdm)+ legacy hood scoop. personally i think subaru said fuck it in designing a car. and just took a bunch of other cars and blended it to one. and made this. its not bad looking, but says subaru has lost its independent style.

i agree, it seems like a lazy design.

i don't like the stretched headlights at all...

and Grafton, the new impreza generation now uses the legacy platform.

Subaru dosent consider the enthusiasts when making a new design.
they consider the general public, and that makes dollars AND sense. so, im not mad at 'em.
i dont buy new cars anyway.

now if we could just get Subaru of America to re-issue the BD-BE generations with JDM styling and turbo.(left hand driver of course)..... :smt023

The xbox hueg wheel arches fit better with the ride height of the outback imo.

they actually swing around so they go with the body when you dont need them, or cross when you need them. i was at the ny auto show yesterday and i have to say the interiors are really good, the only, ONLY thing that keeps me from wanting one is that the ebrake is now a little button, i want a handle!! also reps say no more spec B....maybe theyve got something planned with that new 3.6 liter...turbo anyone?
