Gentlemen... quick question

As most of you know, I parted all the goodies off the Legacy and it has become the wife's daily driver. I bought a civic and to daily and I'm taking a break from modifying cars.... and building another 4x4. It's an 85 toyota truck and it's getting one ton axles, 42 inch Iroks, locked front and rear, blah blah blah... I recently got a guy who wanted to buy my front and rear 60s (the 1 tons) because they were bolt in for him, he offered me more money than I had in them, so I took it and went on the hunt for different axles. I found the perfect front axle in Wilkes-Barre PA, about 6 hours from me. This axle weights between 525 and 550 pounds. My plan is to save a little cash and take the Legacy wagon instead of the Dodge Ram. I put the back seats down and measured, plenty of room length wise. My question, is will the legacy be ok doing this? I'll obviously have a tarp down for gear oil and all. I kind of think of it as two adults sitting in the backseat and some cargo is about the same weight, but I'm just wanting to make sure.

Open the drivers door and look at the tag on door jamb. It'll show max towing and cargo loadout capacity.

it will obviously haul that amount of weight, I'm more concerned about where the majority of the weight will be sitting, more than likely dead center on the spare tire cover and on the back of the backseats that are laying down.

the tag also shows max cargo weight limit, not just towing limit.
Sounds like the weight will be spread over the rear axles, no worries there.

My brother-in-law and I put a pallet of rocks that weighed 700lbs in the back of my BK. Sure, it squatted, but it didn't bottom out and drove around quit nicely. We travelled about 20 miles back to their house on the highway going 60mph and it was fine. Your BH will have no trouble hauling the axle! (Knock on wood)

we got rid of some stuff lately. lets see 4 FWD subaru trannys, two AWD subaru trannys and two bare long blocks. that was all in a bk wagon so about 1500lb of weight. never bottomed out. so i'd say your safe

If I remember correctly max towing a trailer etc is 2000lbs for a 2.5 4EAT. Just not sure if thats with or without passengers.
