So I did the little DIY e-brake cable tightening the other day thats on the DIY RS25.com forum, and honestly, don't really think it was worth the trouble. Has anyone else done this?

Is the location under the car easy to get to and easy to adjust. My cable is stretched so far the one in the console is adjusted all the way already. Can someone explain exactly where it is on a 98?

Its not under the car, it's under the center console/e-brake cover. It's super easy but kinda hard to get to with normal wrenches.
I did mine and it made a HUGE difference. The handle pulls up only half the distance it did before, and actually HOLDS the car now.
Not well, but it holds.

I tightened mine up - huge difference!! Half the travel and i can fling the car around now with dabs of handbrake....instead of just making squeeling noises from the drums.
Best to lift a wheel and make sure nothings binding after youve adjusted the cable. Dont want any brakes dragging
If your adjuster inside the car is already at its max travel it could be worth checking the adjusters inside the drum

You can do it from both the center console, and from the wheels. I did it from the center console.. and it wasn't enough, so then I had it adjusted at the wheels.. and now its great. Check out the FSM for how to do it from the center console.. i think it also might mention about doing it at the wheels.. but i'm not sure.
