drilled a hole in it and threaded a screw into the seal and still wouldnt pull out..

any tricks?

Did you check for a locking clip?

No but i eventually got it out.. was able to rip a hole big enough and get the seal puller in there.

remeber when puting the new seal in to seat it flush with the block.. dont keep going till it stops that will result in a huge leak.

Yup, just took a wooden dowel rod and laid it tangent to the seal and hammered it in

Got the tranny back on too :lol:

The seal that's formed is against the crank right?

I have about a 1mm nick on the outside because I was careless with the drill when I was trying to get a pilot hole into the seal… stupid mistake. It definitely just looked superficial though.

When driving the new seal in I just took a wooden dowel pin and put it tangent to the seal and tapped it in till it was flush, I think it is probably seated about .020” - .030” not in as much as the original one. Couldn’t tell by looking but could tell by running my fingers around. I couldn’t really get it in any further without risking pushing it in too far. I could tell the wood was coming into contact with the metal by the sound. The little raised part of the seal is probably protruding past the flush surface.

You think this will be okay? I already put the tranny back so it better be…

meh.. it should be fine.. after the drive plat is on it cant go anywhere.. or if u have a 5 speed the flywheel.

I am so paranoid. dropping the tranny was such a PITA
I keep envisioning myself having to do it again.
