DeadlyDave's 2002 Lexus IS300 (Un-pimp Ze Auto)

Here she is, my new steed. My god, she needs an LSD, though I'm sure tires would also help. She's nowhere near as fast as the fully Roided Baja was, but is definitely as fast or faster than it was stock. Even with a leather/alcantara interior with heated power seats, it clocks in at around 400 pounds lighter than the Baja. I miss the clutch already, but I'll live. The auto is lightyears ahead of anything subaru's got, even though the design is more than 10 years old. It actually shifts when you press the wheel-mounted buttons, not when it feels like it.

It's already been modded, here's what's on it:
-JDM grille w/wrong sized Altezza Badge.
-Black-painted headlights which look like a rush job.
-'lexus' and 'is300' badges removed from rear(Still has the 'loser L')
-some form of L-O-W springs.
-RE-92's...shit.

What's coming:
-Stock springs
-17x7 aftermarket wheels of some variety
-245-45-17 Yokohama AVS ES100 tires *In Stock*
-Re-do on the headlights
-OEM Limited-slip rear diff.
-Rear Speakers *In Stock*
-Tail light covers. (see below)

The plan is mostly stock mechanicals. This will be my DD and autocross car. It'll be kept in D-stock--READ: AFFORDABLE.

If you want a cheap upgrade go source a 85-92 supra mk3 torsen lsd. You can pull them for under $100. change out the ring gear and a few other things.. Fun if you want to DIY.. You can find the DIY thread with a quick google search.

No, I'm not dead. First snow has fallen and boy I miss having a subie. Instead of buying an LSD for winter I bought an E30 BMW but ended up putting it in storage....snow tires fell in my lap for the IS300.

-5Zigen FN01R-C's in 17" diameter. 8" in the front and 9" in the rear.
-245-40 and 255-40 or 265-35 Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec.
-Covering up the 'altezza' taillights with night shades, covers, or by painting the inside of the housings.
-Doing something about the mismatched front badge.
-Front sway and endlinks to try to keep the inside rear tire planted during cornering. Body roll is bad, see above pics.
-Megan Racing Cat-Back exhaust.

Changing to slicks at the event got old fast, and these tires won't make it through the whole season. So I'm getting the best street tires availible that are priced for Mortals like me.


The E30. A '91 318is with a quarter million miles. Loud and slow, but very fun to drive with a 5mt. 2400 pounds.
