Since the legacy and impreza share fenders, and the lights are roughly the same shape, is it possible to put an 95-01 impreza hood on a legacy?

I would have to say no.. since the 'preza is shorter, among other differences.

Yeah thats news to me too. They definitely don't look all that similar.
Peace,
Kyle

also the grills are different contours.

no, they don't share fenders, I don't think...

The bumpers are a "loose fit"

the hoods are definitely out.

The inside of the fender well is almost identical, so I thought the fenders on the whole were similar enough. Sigh... I guess I'll have to keep looking for a scooped legacy hood.

Might be cheaper to get a scoop and have a body shop put it in your hood???

Probably not, but its possible...

you have a super-secret project we don't know about??

it involves a hood scoop and 600whp, yes

then you won't need a hood scoop, cos FMIC is the way to go.

Or find a clueless non-enthusiast Outback owner and offer a little cash to swap hoods. Just make sure your hood is appealing enough to convince the Outback owner that they're getting a good hood.

edit: Mark, you not sharing info? Since when you find a stash of some random 600whp lying around?

yeah, tell them its weight savings (possibly true) that improves gas mileage....(also possibly true)

oh- but I don't think the OBs came in the same color as yours :?

match whose color?

I've seen outbacks scooped hoods in:

maroon (anniv edition)
dark red
silver
black
dark green
dark blue

now if we start talking metallic flake nuances...well, I'm out of this discussion. I see the cars passing in traffic,...not close enough to investigate the flake.

PWT's dark green...

I don't know if the outbacks came with that one...

You could just buy my scoopless hood and experiment on it and figure it out haha.

If I got my hands on a GT hood, I would definitely create a Ram Air intake....some guys on LCO did the computations...if I did it with a Legacy scoop, it would be effective at about 10mph

i'd like to swap mine for a scoopless. WTF is the point of a scoop if you don't use/need it.

I'd swap you if paint wasn't so expensive....

Its called scoop envy. The 4runner guys all have it. SR5 4runners are scooped, and all the others aren't. Guys go nuts over scooped 4runners. That feeling has transferred with me over to the subaru. I thought it'd look pretty cool to do the impreza hood, especially since they have the little removable holes right above the air intake. There are a TON of spruce pearl mettalic outbacks around here. Some with scoops, some without, but most with old women driving them.

No super top secret plans. I want a good looking car. It may be all show and no go, but that'd be ok.

gil_ong, would you be willing to buy a scoopless hood? I'm sure you'd have no trouble selling a GT one to someone.
Peace,
Kyle
