I just noticed a noise coming from my right front wheel. What it sounds like is something rubbing when I start to come to a stop. It isnt a constint noise more of once every rotation if that makes sence. I have checked for debris and to see if there was anything visualy rubbing I but I see nothing. A friend a work said that it might be a CV joint. I am unfamiliar with them but what do you guys think?
Check the CV boot to see if it's torn and has grease all over it.

go under the car and see if they're still in one piece.

Stone stuck between your rim and brake caliper making contact once per revolution?

I dont think it is a rock. If it was wouldnt there be damage to my rotor then? I dont see any of that.
Is fixing the cv joint a simple task or is it something I should have done at a shop?

depends. There are quickboots out there for DIY'ers to replace the boot without having to take the axle off, but you need to make sure the bearings haven't gotten too bad to the point of needing to replace the whole axle.

problem soloved. I took it to a shop and it turns out that the lugs were not tight enough on my right front tire. because of that I ruined the....cant think of the name but it it what the lugs screw on to. Had to get 5 new ones and problem solbed. They said everything else looked good to go. In the end this was compleatly preventable.

What did they charge you at the shop? I am having the same problem with mine! And I might consider changing them myself.
I hate firestone service shops. I had them do some work on my car and they didn't tighten the lugs down all the way. VERY VERY DANGEROUS!! I got home, 5 miles away, and I could finger tighten the lugs!!!!
Can I go back to them and make them replace those bolts, since they created the problem?

it was 70 an hour for labor and $5 for each wheel stud and eight dollors for each lug nut. in total $151. in the end it is something i could have done but i was there and they had the parts ready to go so...
