Browsing craigslist I came across this.
http://rochester.craigslist.org/pts/1105846677.html

seems to be a good deal but I'm not 100%.
First, These will fit on my '99 Legacy right?
Second, if I put these on will it connect to the rest of the stock exhaust for the time being.

Those are Dual Port, if you have a 2.5 it will bolt on no problem.

I am not to sure about 2.2's though I do know that most are single port.

That header design will fit any Subaru with a dual port design. legacy/impreza/forester/etc...

And yes it will bolt up to your stock exhaust system.

Here's mine when i just installed the header.. same boral knockoff design made in china.

P.S. don't use the studs that come with the header.. They are garbage and will break/seize. Get some better quality ones from Subaru or Napa.

It's either a hit or miss with these borla knockoffs. I bought mine on ebay and they were not a direct fit. I had a muffler shop to extend the cross over pipe longer. And make sure you get Subaru gaskets...they are a bit expensive but no leaks!

Excellent! Yes, it's a 2.5 so all should be good. I just need to find some time to get them then install. Probably won't happen until over the summer. Any other things I should do while doing the headers and gaskets?

Change your oil.. With the UEL design the pipes sit mm's from the filter. Its a bit of PITA but the joys of modding.

Will they block being able to change the filter easily once installed? I changed the oil and filter the other week and had no problems.

If you use the Subaru OEM filter it is MUCH smaller than a Bosch 3310.

I run Purolator Pure One and it's a bit close to the header. But of course, I had the header cut and extended to fit...it should all be the same tho.
You shouldn't have any problems getting the oil filter off, with the right tools.. it'll be ok. Just don't splash the oil all over the header

you can allways use the smaller filters off the newer models and not the big style

Does anyone have the part number for the subaru gaskets?
I got it knocked down to $150 so I'm thinking I can get them next weekend and stop by the subaru dealer while I'm up there
