GC sedan coilovers on BG Wagon? UPDATED with PICS!

Hi, my friend is trying to sell his GC Sedan coilovers they are Tein SS with pillowball mounts. iam wondering if they will fit my 99 BG wagon? is it direct bolt on with the GC camber plate and all? how bout BD Legacy sedan, will it fit on that too??

hello i just recently put on GC coilovers on my BK wagon basically same thing. IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM WORK you must swap the tophats on the rear. there is no way around it. check my member ride page on page4-5 i think for more details and pictures of the install. and BTW i have tein gas type wagon master coilovers for sale.

ok, heres a update with pics. i've been gathering the parts for the install. i got the coilovers it is for GC8 Tein HA model and the black rear top mounts are from a USDM BK Legacy wagon.

-i just wanted to know is this everything i need to put them into my wagon?
-just swap the top mounts and put it on the car?
-do i need any extra stuff (nuts, bolts, anything?)
-the fronts should just bolt in without changing anything?

i wanted to confirm all those before i take them apart and get the shop to install. see if anyone can answer those for me. thanks very much

I'd clean those tophats up first. But your install should go smoothly.

Those tophats are in rough shape. You might want to consider buying some STI Group N tophats or at least some new/slightly used OEM ones.

IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM WORK you must swap the tophats on the rear. there is no way around it..
Mine are not swapped over/around, and they fit.

However, I'm not recommending this, as I've just recently installed my 02-03 WRX set up. I'm only pointing out, that the holes do line up and bolt in from my set up.

Oh yeah, and btw... You'll have to make brackets for your brakelines, as the ones for the Impreza's are different.

GC sedan tophats for the REAR do not fit.. i had GC coilovers on my wagon. and im putting a set on JDMlegacy's car tomorrow.. the rear tophats must be swapped with your legacy ones. there is no way around it.

yes. 1st gen impreza and legacy match, 2nd gen impreza and legacy match.

no the rear tophats dont fit when switched i tried all that. the legacy wagon rear tophats are just farther apart. the rears must be swapped. fronts are OK. rears are NOT OK.

if your sayinf 1st gen on the front and 2nd gen on the rear then yes correct.

looking at the nasioc article the bolt patterns are different. GTBguy is right. subiesport must not have their info correct on the legacy

2002-07 wrx is GD... 93-01 is GC. so your setup doesnt apply to this because you have a suspension off of a different chassis then the one the OP is talking about.

2002-07 Impreza GD suspension fits BG BD BK ... 1993-01 Impreza GC suspension only bolts up no problems on the front. the rear tophats must be swapped to fit a BG BK BD. swap your rear tophats and smooth sailing awaits you. :smt023 il make a DIY thread when i install JDMlegacy's(liz's) coilovers they came off a 99 GC.
