Checking for Blown Struts

Is there a quick and easy way of checking for blown struts? Part of my commute has some nasty roads that shake your teeth out and I'm getting a lot of vibration noises when going over bumps.

bounce your car up and down a few time. rear for rear. front for front. does the car settle within 3 strokes of the suspension? if not you may have blown struts

Jump on your bumper, rock the car up and down then jump off and count how many bounces the car makes before settling. If it takes more than two bounces your ish is blown. I suppose you don't have to actually jump on your bumper if you don't want to, just rock it really hard.
