Car stalleed out at traffic light today (4EAT)

My 96 stalled out at a traffic light today.

The girl was driving it and she said she only tried to restart it once and it cranked but wouldnt start up. She didnt try again because she was afraid something was wrong with it, and of course she didnt have her cell phone with her to call me either.

Eventually somebody came by and helped her start it.. she said they gave gas while starting it, but since she only tried to start it once after it stalled it might have just started after a couple more tries anyway.

Any ideas what would cause it to stall out though?

My first instinct would be to check for any vacuum leaks. Check the intake hose connection to the MAF.

you've had some troubles with the IAC previously. check that the bypass hose isnt cracked or loose.. like said check for leaks. your IAC may be on its way out. other thing previously mentioned if the tps is adjusted not right and is a bit off it can cause auto's to stall.

Actually the IAC valve was on my 97. I haven't done anything with the 96 lately, it's been running great until just now. I drove it today and it didn't give me any problems though. Things only seem to happen when she drives it...
