Edit: I'm not sure if this thread should go here or in Chassis and Suspension; sorry if this is the wrong section, and feel free to move if necessary.

I just installed a set of Kartboy rear differential outrigger bushings, purchased through Turn In Concepts for exactly $32 shipped. I got the stiffer "race" bushings rather than the softer "comfort" version.

Link: http://www.turninconcepts.com/product_i ... &osCsid=d9 (http://www.turninconcepts.com/product_info.php?cPath=&products_id=23&osCsid=d9)

Install was very easy, involving 3 bolts on each side, and about 30 minutes.

The first thing I noticed was that the "klunk" when shifting fast is almost completely gone, save for a small "click". The bucking with the throttle applied is now totally gone, but the bucking off the throttle isn't reduced much more than before. In sum, the rear end is more tight feeling. As far as NVH, there is a small noticeable increase at low RPM, but it isn't bothersome. At higher RPM's there is a bit more noise, but the engine is louder anyway.

Overall, this is a must-do mod for any manual transmission Legacys. It's super cheap, easy, and has a great result.

Here's a muddy picture:

I've never heard of this before.

Any pics of the install to see what it looks like?

I've been thinking about doing this.... I can move the frame around with my hand and I have nasty bucking and it CAN'T be the engine/trans. Well not the trans. Group-N trans mount and pitch stop.

It really is a great mod for the money. It's super easy to do too.

My car bucks around like crazy. There's a ton of slop in the drivetrain, I think every bushing is shot. I would rather put upgraded bushings on my 2.5RS though, maybe I'll just take the stock RS bushings and put them on my wagon.

The set of bushings comes with 6 total bushings, including a thinner pair that fit the 2.5rs, so you could swap them around as you please.

So the kit includes some bushings that you as a Legacy driver wouldn't use? One kit would supply bushings for both my cars?

Yes; the kit comes with 2 sets of large upper bushings; one of them is specifically for the GC8. The other lower bushing is a smaller one used for pretty much all Subarus. What you could potentially do is use 2 of 3 bushings on one car of your choosing, and use the remaining set on the other car. Scoobymods has directions for both the Legacy (same as forester and impreza) and the GC8.
