View Full Version : DLC's 98 Legacy L Estate (Many new parts 08/13/09)
Picked up this nice example on Saturday:
1998 Legacy L Wagon (BK)
Phase I EJ22
5MT
AWD
Spruce Pearl
Michelin X-Ice 185/70-14 on OE alloys
Upgraded ICE
Rear floormat
179k miles
U-Haul hitch
Keyless entry with alarm
Mudflaps
Roof rack
New timing belt, water pump, wires, plugs, fuel filter, Motorvac and MAF.
It reportedly has an occasional miss and CEL. Cruise, center HVAC and pass. front door switch don't work. Front washer motor is burnt out, driver seat belt is fraying. Dents, dings and normal stuff for an 11-year-old car.
Got it for a steal.

You're selling your BE!?
Also... Welcome to the mafia.
I am back in the mafia (I did have a 93 BJ Touring Wagon).
I will sell the BE if someone is willing to deal with the engine and paint, yeah.

Can't wait to see this baby around... (Although I've still not seen your BE. I'm not in SLC enough) Make sure to check out the pick'n'pull at 3300 N, they always have a few BK legacies and sometimes you're lucky enough to snag a wing or sideskirts.

A few updates have happened in the last month.

I really, honestly never meant to do most any of these things, but you know how if you look, you find, and you can't resist. More stuff to come :)

Those mods look familiar! I also just put 03 WRX buckets in my wagon. Looks like she's coming together fast! You gonna be at the meet on saturday?
I should be at the meet. Might as well be, since Cobb isn't doing anything anymore.

Looking SICK DLC... Can't wait to see those tails and grill on it!
JDM "L7" grille is on and it works well:

Tails are a work in progress.
Removed the huge U-Haul trailer hitch...heavy!
Still trying to figure out what is causing the hesitation.
Ordering a Bosal/SPT axleback.
Waiting to install the MS3 single-port headers:

that's really starting to come together! nice job
i got more noise out of the headers than i did the spt axleback, i think its because it was made for the 2.5L, but if you want something that won't make too much noise or wake up the neighbors in the morning than the axleback is perfect!

Here's how I got rid of the hesitation in mine:
1: fill up with 91 octane a few times, drive aggressively every so often (shifting at higher RPMs, which you probably need to do to get on the freeway with a 2.2 anyways)
2: apply seafoam via the PCV valve. Put about half through there, dump the rest in your gas tank. Make sure you have a buddy regulate the RPMs around 2000.
3: smoke out your neighborhood
4: ???
5: PROFIT! Your engine now runs far better.
It also helps to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset the sensors.
Most of the new bits:

You're moving very quick with all the mods...
I blame the fact that I have so many forums to look after. It's hard to ignore the opportunities.

I still can't believe no-one's bought your BE. If you were closer I'd have snapped it up for a relative. The HG can't be that hard on the smaller SOHC, and the paint is fixable. :smt021
Indeed.
I'm going to be tearing it to shreds soon. Tired of waiting for someone to take it away.
Updated the first post with mod list.

i like how you took your intake off the BE and used it on the wagon.
Actually I did find a MAF 99 2.5RS Cobb CAI...but I sold it. It was too loud and it didn't quite fit right. The Turn 3 intake with the simple, non-torque box setup sounds good and fits a lot better.

what size pipe did you get for the bosal axle back?
Pipe?
I bought the wagon version and put it in. I didn't replace the midpipe.
