My 2002 LGT did not come with a filter but a filter can be put in.
Did mine three weeks ago, cleaned out a lot junk while I was at it...

Newer models might have that as an accessory. Which is nice to have since it traps all that crap from coming in the cabin.

How hard was it to do? I've been thinking about butting 1 in mine also.

I just asked for a replacement filter at autoparts store...
pull the glovebox and the panel is directly behind it; pop the four clips and the panel slides off. Clean out the compartment and in goes the filter.
Just make sure you get the 2 piece filter when you shop for it..
took me about an hour with cleaning out the junk and a learning curve

Make sure nothing falls into the rat looking spinning wheel. It'll make hella noise constantly  ..I'm assuming it does have that spinning wheel at the bottom.

ugh yes I have to pull my blower motor the sound was making the noise from the time I brought the car used.. it always sounds like a card stuck in spoke wheels.
