Raybrig H3's for Foglights

I just noticed tonight, that 1 of my fogs are out. I was thinking of getting a pair of Raybrig bulbs. @ a whopping $70 shipped, I thought again...


Should I just pay the $ and get them??? or is there something similar... more practical?

I never really had good experience with factory auxilliary lighting. Even if you spend that cash on bulbs, the optics will always be your greatest limiting factor.

For $70 I could get some Hella 500's and that would have a lot better light output on plain ol' 55w h3 bulbs.

I run Nokya 55 watters in my 2.5RS fogs. 1200K Yellow. Available on ebay shipped to your door for ~$25. They can't be beat.

I use PIAA Ions on my GT. They were like $35 shipped.

I hate to be Captain Obvious but just search ebay for Nokya H3 or whatever you need. Sort them in order of price, mine cost around $25 shipped. Mine are the 55W yellow bulbs.

I know, but I'm just saying, $70 is kind of expensive for something that may just burn out after a few hours of use. I would just get some nokyas or Osram silverstars (non-tinted version of US sylvania silverstars) or Philips Xtravisions...they're all around $25-35 for a pair.

What about the cut off?

If they are reflector fog lights, you don't really have a cutoff, that's mainly the concern of projector fogs. Even then, fog lights should be aimed more toward the ground.

these things are the best FOG projectors, i know its weird that they seem cheap. but they also accept HID VERY WELL! for 95$ u can have HIDs in these.

I have blazers and they are ok with halogens, but I just ordered 3000k HID's for them. I will post output pics when they come in later this week.

Thanks guys for the info, but I like the look of my factory fogs and don't want to change them. Bulbs would probably be the way I'm going.

you can get H3C hid kit for 60$ on ebay. make sure you get h3c h3 will not fit. if u have stock GT fogs they wont cause glare. the stock gt fogs are pretty wide but not a lot of foreground. if you have L projector fogs they accept the h3c bulbs PERFECTLY i have a h3c kit in my jdm fogs which use the same es300 projector that the L's have

+1 for the HID upgrade; halogen bulbs, even really good ones, will never give you the raw output of HID's. I personally got mine from DDM tuning, since they have a good warranty.

see the bulb in the bottom right. thats h3c. it runs at 30 watts instead of 35. which will not damage your projectors, it will be hella brighter and the focal point of the arc in the bulb is identical to a normal h3 bulb. a regular h3 bulb isnt the same focal point and messes with the output. and it wont even fit in the projectors you have.

I just installed 3000k HID's in blazer fogs, and had ample opportunity to test them in rain late last night, and I can say that they are amazing for bad weather! The yellow light doesn't reflect from rain and I can actually see the road! I highly recommend this setup.

hey dont know if u got lights yet but i got hids and they were like 55 bucks with shipping at ddmtuning.com. there the slim balast too so they dont take up much space. but i recommend that u scuff the backs for the balast cause the double sided tape doesnt hold the best so u could go out and buy different tape too.
