hey guys, this is my first post in this site and surely won't be the last one. i own a 98 outback, that just recently i installed 02 strtus with h and r lowering springs. the front is fine, the problem is the rear. every time i hit a bump the tire rubs, and its really annoying, i can't even imagine what would happen if i had passengers in the rear. i rolled the fenders in but that wasn't enough. theres like a 1 inch clearance between the tire and well. PLEASE HELP!!!!

"saggy butt spacers" , I believe you install them on top of the strut mount or something and it'll give you a nice little rise. I think 1/2" - 3"4 is what you need.

I can't speak personally about them, I picked up a STi suspension set, and while they are different from the wrx struts, I know I wouldn't mind a 1/4" spacer in the rear to reduce my rubbing from time to time before i rolled my fenders.

I'm sure there are members on the board that can vouch for them.

did you get an alignment? Dailing in some more negative camber in the rear should give you a little mroe clearance on the fender side...

upload your photo to photo bucket then use the IMG link for use in a forum.. that should help.

what size tires are they?? you may just have blown struts in the rear. i had 235's on my wagon with factory struts and i had no rubing problems. but if you look up in the fender well you should see where the tire is rubbing and you can heat that area up and massage it with a hammer till satisfied. saggy butt spacers are just a cheap way to get a bad problem delt with. get new struts or beat the sh!t out of your fender well.. the fender roll job isnt that bad just go back over that area with the eastwood fender roller and you can make that look quiet decent.and being you have a BG wagon compared to my old BK your wagon sits higher. sooo my brain tells me you may have blown struts.

^ +1. They don't "look" any bigger than my 215/45/17's. And I was only rubbing when I was pushing really had. You could always do a full coilover swap....... :smt023 lol I kid, I kid......

thanks to all of you for the quick responses regarding my problem. fortunately i think i have found the solution to my rubbing problem. what i did was put some rubber bushings over the strut piston, so that when the top hat hit the bushing the piston would not go in further. so far no rubbing but will keep you guys informed

wait, arent you running bumpstops? You should have one on the strut, it prevents damage to the strut internals if you bottom out the suspension (which it seems like youre close to doing).

If that's a 235/45 A046 (Evo stock tire), you're going to be all over those fenders without a stiff spring and a lot more fender work, and we haven't even gotten into wheel offset. Need more details on the setup.
