What am I gonna need? '97 2.5 MT setup into '98 2.2 AT car

Just want a quick list of anything I might need to swap other than engine, trans, pedals, shifter, and wiring/pcm (?).

Engine and trans (and anything else) would be coming out of my '97 2.5GT sedan and going into a '98 L wagon that has a dead 2.2 and an automatic.

Also I'm planning on getting the wagon gutted and as ready as possible, so I can pull the motor/trans/etc out of my 2.5GT and have it in the wagon and running in ONE WEEKEND. Sound about right?

Anything else I should be aware of?

You're going to need to swap EVERYTHING from your GT into the wagon. The auto wagon is running a 4.44 FD in the rear diff, your GT is running 4.11 FD.

Bear in mind you may want to swap the wire harness as well because the wagon has an AT TCU and your MT doesn't. The TCU is also hooked into the ABS controller. Your MT isn't.

Am I going to need the BD's axles? Looking at alldata the removal procedure is different, and they are different part numbers.

The auto wagon is running a 4.44 FD in the rear diff, your GT is running 4.11 FD.
the 2.2 auto's are 4.11 2.5 autos a 4.44

master cyl (clutch)
slave cyl (clutch) and two bolts
clutch rubber hose
clutch hard line
shift linkage
correct 5mt trans mount (i should have one if needed)
bushings
flywheel/clutch
correct driveshaft (i have a sedan 5mt driveshaft if needed)
wiring

IIRC only fwd and 114.5x5 axles are different

I should have everything as my 2.5GT is going to be the donor car.
I was looking at it up on the lift all day Saturday at all them rusty ass bolts holding the rear diff in, cursing....

So you're sure the 2.2 automatic rear diff in the wagon is the same ratio as the rear diff in the 2.5 manual sedan?
And which bushings do you mean?

according to the subaru FSM for 98 the 2.2 has the 4.11 and the 2.5 has 4.44

I got the complete kartboy setup so I'm good there.

I was searching around on nastysock and found a guy who had some spec guides from the late 90's that showed the FD to be 4.11 for an automatic 2.2 AND the manual 2.5 so you are correct! Thanks again!
