i know it's possible to turbocharge a 98 bg ej25, but is there a write up somewhere saying how to do it. my questions are will the wrx exhaust and turbo fit, will i need a different ecu, etc. if anyone knows please let me know.

Wrx headers/UP/DP/turbo will fit, but you will either need to notch the crossmember or get a turbo crossmember so the headers will fit. You will also need a custom exhaust, new fuel pump, injectors, and some sort of engine management. RS2.5.com has a lot of information about turbocharging the ej25, so you might wanna check there as well.

Yes it can be done. Mine is turbo'ed. The site that was suggested in the post above, RS25.com, is full of info on swapping and turbo'ing the EJ25.

i just want to say WOW!!!!!! rs25.com has so many posts. do you guys know of where the information that i'm looking for would be on that site???

and for impreza_gc8, what did you have to do in order to get it to work. what turbo did you use, engine management, wiring, did you run into any ecu problems, who made the exhaust, etc. i would REALLY appreciate it if you can write a small write-up of how you did it, so that i can get pointed in the right direction.

thanks for the quick responses.

forgot one thing. about how much did it cost you to turbo your wagon, excluding labor, just parts?

I bought the car with the engine work done, I just worked out a few issues. Click the link in my sig for complete info on the car. If you decided to go the same route as my car, you can turbocharge for very cheap. Let me just say though that I would never have built an engine this way had it been me doing the swap. It works and its quick, but its the epitome of a frankenstine, read my mod list to see why.
