Q's about front end conversion. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I have a 99 legacy outback wagon and i wanted to do a frontend conversion, taking a 04-05 wrx frontend and putting it on my 99 wagon. Just didnt know if this could be done. Just was unsure if the radiator support was still the same or if it all changed alot. I just love the look of the frontends of the 04-05 wrx. Obviously im not that edumacated on subaru stuff as of yet, so i just wanted to ask and sorry if its a stupid question.


I looked throught all the posts and i didnt see anything related to what im asking, but if there was something, and i over looked, im sorry for the re-post.

Interesting idea... I doubt the front fenders are going to fit the lines of the rest of the car. Mechanically it might work, but visually...it would work better on the BE (00-04) chassis.

Thats what i was thinking too! But all i can do is research this more and find out what is possible. Maybe others will reply to my post and i'll get an answer.

Well, your best bet is to find a set of WRX fenders and test fit them to see how off you'll be. Even just one will give you an idea.

Would be a fun conversion if it all bolted up though.

It is possible for the right amount of Time & Money. If you want a Ferrari front end, you can have that too.

You might want to invest in a front cut (less motor of course....or not) of a WRX first. The radiator support and all the necesary wiring for the lights are there + all the sheetmetal and hardware as well. Cutting the front ends off the fenders and re-welding as well as cutting into the front part of the hood and welding them onto the OB should be expected.... In short, this is a big job, but if done right, would be a first....or you could just buy a WRX with the money you'd put into doing this.... but I'm sure you've heard that one too.

Either way, you're good in my book.... You'd still have a Subaru :smt023


P.s. You might wanna look into using some of the SaaBaru (Saab's 9-3x?) parts as well.

Wow, i had know idea that it was such a big deal. I guess ill just stick with the front end i have. lol I just thought it would be a cool thing to do. But if its gonna take a crap load of money and time, ill just use that money for a swap or something that would be used toward my advantage.
