ok so yesturday i hooked up a new headunit, amp, and subwoofers...wasnt the first time ive done this but this time the lights on my guage cluster and on my shifter wont turn on...i rotated the thing that adjusts the brightness and nothing.
my check engine light still comes one and the lights that say what setting the ac is on comes on along with door/trunk indicator but thats it
however...when i lock and unlock my car with the alarm button all the lights flash like normal...any thoughts on what could be wrong? the headunit is hooked up to the right wires and lights up and works fully and i clipped the wires that are not in use
i need this fixed cause i cant see how fast im going at night

Sometimes I have to hit my dash with my fist to get the cluster lights to come on. Probably some connection loose.

blown fuse...replaced it and it blew again...stock unit is back in place and theres no subs or amp bein ran off it...just the usual speakers
i was going to put a 15 amp fuse in and see if that blows but i dont wanna burn my car down

You definately have an exposed wire, or a bad connection.
Don't replace the fuse with a bigger one. Find the wire that's affected and repair it, then replace the fuse. GL
