I need to do water temp and oil pressure...

There are supposed to be existing ports for these things, but I do not know where they are on the engine block...

A little help?

Water temp can be T'd into anywhere post thermostat. There is a blank plug on the drivers side head (I think), that hits a cooling jacket. This plug would need to be drilled and tapped for 1/8" NPT. To T into a post thermostat hose, you would simply need a peice of pipe, and drill a hole and either thread or weld a bung into it.

For oil pressure, there is a kit out there that sandwiches between oil filter and block that you can thread a 1/8" NPT sensor into. I installed one on my friends Stage4 WRX. His only had one drilled/tapped hole, but I think they make them with more than one hole now and that is good so you can thread an oil temp gauge too.

The AT Fluid Temp, Oil Temp, and Water temp gauges all use the same probe, so you could interchange them if you want. I am going to use my Trans temp gauge as a water temp gauge.

because of the risks of a mechanical oil pressure guage, I'm going to skip that one...

Thanks for the tips on the water temp :)

well i am lookin at a mechanical oil pressure gauge...

cause its cheap and i can't afford the cobalt autometers.

would i really have to get the adapter? are there no other threaded hols that hit the oil passage?

crap!

and is the drilling/tapping actually required for the water temp as well?

such a PITA compared to my truck.
