got the 05 turbo outback tranny and rear diff. i need to know what the final drive is. were could i find this. should i call SOA parts to see if they could tell me? the sn is 5d-ty757vcaba

well that kind of sucks. i have to find this out for sure. because if its 4.11 i will not have to change out the rear diff. not to worried about it because i have the the tranny, diff, and 4 axels. would my driveshaft from my 01 BE work? also i was "told" it was out of a turbo'd outback.

Yeah, I think it's from a 2.5i, not an XT. The tranny code you gave shows it as:
"Manual transaxle - Transaxle
Transaxle, legacy/outback, 5 speed, w/outback, w/o turbo 2005"

2.5i has a 4.11 final drive so you'd be good to go if that's what it is.

If you want to make 100% sure, you can simply unbolt the cover off the rear diff and count the teeth on the ring gear. 41 teeth = 4.11 final drive and 44 teeth = 4.44 final drive.

Your stock BE driveshaft will definitely work since it's 5mt --> 5mt and the rear diff is the same style (r160).

Looking up the code 'ty757vcaba' brought me here: http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b13/type_21/manual_transmission/transmission_assembly/

Under 'Supplement', you'll see the first code listed is the one you gave. The part number is in the column left of it, 32000AF890.

Checked my local Subaru dealer's parts website, entered in that specific part number and it gave me what I posted above: "Manual transaxle - Transaxle
Transaxle, legacy/outback, 5 speed, w/outback, w/o turbo 2005"

Plus, the SPDA Transmission Chart (http://spda-online.ca/modules/tinycontent/rewrite/tc_28.html) shows the 2005 Outback XT 5mt tranny code as 'TY757VWAAB', not the one you gave.
