the motor i got came with no flywheel. should i just use the ej2.5 flywheel and clutch?

what kind of clutch/tranny are you using? ej25d flywheel is a little heavy then turbo flywheels

If you are using the original trans, use the original flywheel, this also applies to the clutch and clutch related parts.

i am using all original trans clutch flywheel from the bd. it will all work im assuming.

how much of a diff does it really make? what weight is mine and what weight should i look for? is there anything specific so i dont have to mod it? i need it to be a dd and so my wife can drive it. so nothin to light.

I'd check on nasioc with the wrx guys, most of them are ricers and will tell you to get a 2lb flywheel :smt046 but there should be a couple valid inputs for a daily driver. I stayed stock just because I knew I would be pulling my engine again, so far I don't see a need for changing mine.

You have a flywheel of approx. 20-25lbs. If you go to the Exedy LW flywheel or even the ACT Streetlite you will gain a huge amount of responsiveness in the throttle - it'll still be daily driveable and you won't have any idle problems. You will drop around 10-15lbs of rotating mass which makes a very large difference.

sweet thanx guys i guess we wil just see where the funds are at that time. so do i need a wrx one or a legacy one since i am all legacy clutch and what not.

you stick with the clutch/fw parts that are specific to the transmission you are using. still using an n/a transmission? use n/a parts, using a wrx transmission, use wrx parts.
