Recommended tire size for 18x8 +35

Tire sizing for 18x8 +35mm 5x100 without rubbimg on the BD?

I'm thinking 215/40 without fender roll/pull.

in my opinon 40 series tire the ride sucks. 45 i think is a happy in the middle. not to big and not to small. 215 would work, but 225 would look better. or you could stretch the tire.

What I'm worrying about is the clearance in the rear wheels. so 215/45 eh?
that's what I'm running now on 17s.

What I'm looking at is the BBS LM replicas. They make them for European cars but the bolt pattern is the same as our cars. And the funny part is..they only make them 18s and up :roll:

A 215/45 will be too tall. In order to prevent major fender work, you're looking at a 215/40, max.

FWIW, I've got 225/40/18 Falken 615's on an 18x8 ET51. They seem to run pretty narrow in that size.

You'd be 16mm farther out, and my fenders are rolled and pulled quite a bit. If you're willing to run a little rear camber, it might work, but I'd plan on fender work.

Yep, way more than I personally am comfortable with (I don't even like a 225 on an 8, but I picked up the wheels that way).

You don't want to hear it, but the best solution is either to get medieval on your fenders, or run something with a higher offset. There's no "magic tire" that will let you run a low-offset wheel without a stretched side profile and fender mods.......that's why it's an "aggressive fitment" and not an easy one. My car is a bad example because it's already on the edge of what you can do and still DD it and haul stuff with - that black car is a better view of why it just won't work - it's simple physics.

In all seriousness, hit up VWvortex in your local section and see if someone has a wheel you can test-fit so you can see how far out it is. Dub guys are super-helpful if you're chill, and wheel whores like me are common.

I appreciate the help, I'll look around and see what I find. But most likely it will need to be stretch on there. 18X8 is the smallest size that comes in that specific rim. It'll be better if it was 17x7 :cry:
