AC love

anyone else's Legacy run better with the AC on?

this is my second Subaru, and both of them have better pick up/throttle response with the AC on in the summer.

all my other cars ran worse. anyone know what thats all about?

Well the idle goes up when the AC is on..

I have no idea what you're talking about. Mine feels like it loses 20hp with the AC on. Same with my friend's WRX.

i know, thats what im used to with my previous cars. thats why i thought id throw it out there. its a mystery.

just guessing, but it feels like with the ac on theres more vacuum. like somethings a loose fit, then with the ac on it becomes tighter sealed. either way, im not gonna fret. just think its weird.

Funny that's the exact feeling when I removed my A/C.

You may have a compressor that's seizing, which would cause more resistance on the crank.

Or the a/c clutch could be dragging, had that happen to a compressor exaclty 1 day after the one year warranty out on my Suburban, I'll always buy oem a/c parts for now on.
