I have this noise that sounds like a creeking or a rubbing noise when ever i turn the wheel either direction. I took it to a garage for inspection and asked them what they thought it could be. They said it was prob. a wheel bearing and that it would be anywhere from 200 to 500 dollars to fix. I just went to another garage and the person there said it could be a brake plate ( never heard of it) that could be bent and rubbing and that they wouldnt charge me to fix it. Does anyone have any other ideas on what it could be and is there cheap way of fixing it? Like i said it just sounds like a creeking/rubbing noise and doesnt jerk the wheel or anything.... whatever it is though its loud as hell and pisses me off!!!!

thanks,
Astin

wheel bearing or possibly a bad axle if it only does it when you're turning...
if it is a wheel bearing, i know of a garage that can get it fixed for 150 and they work on subaru mostly.

yeah a bad axel is another thing i thought it could be. I went to Williamsport Auto today and the lady there said that they could take a look at it, hopefully i can get it in there this week and they wont charge me too much which i dont think should be to bad.. The place that gave me the 200 to 500 quote was Jack Williams in Berwick, bu there always alot more... Thanks for the input belldonna, you def. know your stuff
