transmission drain bolt?

I thought my 19mm socket would work.. however that's the largest size I have in my set.. anyone know what size it is?

hmm, the one on mine is a 19mm. Is there rust on there? try cleaning that off first.

I will check again.. but the bolt should be just in front of the "Y" in the header pipe right? maybe I had the wrong bolt.

its been years since I did the trans fluid with stock n/a headers, just make sure its the bolt near the front of the transmission, right behind the bellhousing. It should be be the only bolt in that area of the transmission underside.

My drain bolt is that rusty looking thing right above the brace...

maybe the factory bolt was misplaced and that's an aftermarket? I dunno, I just did my trans fluid this weekend and I'm pretty sure it was not larger than 19mm. The only other trans drain bolt I know subaru uses are for the WRX's, which requires a pretty big torx bit.

Yeah, its not biggie, I would think buying the right socket would be cheaper than getting a new bolt from subaru though...

Turns out none of the dealers had the bolt anyways for it.. So I just picked up a clutch pad because the other one was so worn out it was just hanging on.

Here is the bolt I was talking about and turns out my guessing was right it's a 21mm socket that worked.
