How do I remove this box?

I would guess this box area is from the outside air? but how could large leaves get in?

Long story short I was installing a new bulb in my glove box and since the blower motor was so close I wanted to see what was that sound was in the cage fan.. turns out it was nothing.. So decided to check the resistors out and that's when I notice all this in the box area.. which would explain why my eyes are so itchy with the fan on.

well I used my hand to get out as much as I could get and this is what came out.

WOW where did you park your poor leggy, thats almost as bad as my old accent it blew pine needles for the entire 2 years i owned it and i never parked under a pine tree

I'm the 3rd owner of this car so I don't know... where it's been parked.. one thing I do know is my AC is blowing much cooler now.

get as much out by hand. you need to pull the dash to get the box out

Don't need to pull the dash only if you are doing the heater core..

What i found out why the box was not coming out was I thought I had all the screws out so I decided to check one more time and I felt a screw wayyy in the back and the only way my screw driver was going to fit was if I took the ECU out of the way.. I already had to remove the kick plate for it just to reach some areas.

was not worth the hassle so I just removed the rest by hand.

I think a leaf got in mine I turned my fan to high and I hear something blowing in it..

but sure is hell not all that pine needles that was in it before :eek:

I read this post and some others about cleaning the AC evaporator (I had really shitty AC) so I dove under there and by-gollee there was a bunch of crap stuck in mine as well. Also, I took the blower fan out and gave it a good cleaning. There were a few leaves in there as well. Once you get the blower fan out, you can stick your entire hand inside the box to get stuff out. You can also fit a vacuum hose in there too. It's a little tricky getting the fan off without undoing a couple dashboard bolts.

I hope I wont have a leak in the evaporator when i run the UV dye in the system the back of it looked pretty nasty.. besides I think a O-ring is on the evaporator as well?

How do i get a new buld in the damn holder for the glove compartment? After like 15 mins i finally got the old one out, but now i cant get a new bugger in.... It's like suuper tiight.

bulb you mean? when I took mine out I had the same issue..

I just took the glove box out and got under and behind it to see where it was.. pretty hard to do it blind and harder when your LED base is a bit thicker too.

It's been working fine almost a year I had my car.

Yeah, i squeezed the box together so it dropped down, but was still attached, But i still didn't manage to get it in... Guess i gotta give it another shot some day...

well under the glove box.. and the hardest screw to get to is the one behind the box and near the ECU because of the curve it's a tight fit but doable.
