View Full Version : Rogue Turn Signal

Today I installed my JDM Projectors on my BD (and there was much rejoicing). However, as seems to be the case with everything on my particular vehicle, it had been messed with in the past, and we kind of had to guess for the wiring. There were different colored wires than on the well thought out DIY that I printed as reference.

Anyways, so here's the deal: The passenger side turn signal is on when the headlights are on. It blinks like it should with the turn signal or hazard lights engaged, however it does not turn off unless the headlights are turned off completely.

I am confused. I did not believe switching the from the two piece USDM to the one piece JDM headlight assembly affected the turn signals outside of notching the USDM bracket and plug-and-playing from there.

It is possible that I bumped something during the install, but I am not sure as to what would cause just one turn signal to feel that it needs more attention than the rest of the vehicle.

I will probably have to take the whole assembly out again, but on the off-chance that I could avoid it.... :smt024 Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for your time,

Phil

Update: I showed my roommate the problem. We were both stumped as to why it would just stay on, so he suggested that it could be that the other side is just off instead. I walk up to it, say "Hey you!" in a goofy voice and knock on the turn signal, and bam! it turns on.

Now I have both turn signals on at all times and neither responds to the parking light toggle atop the steering column. :smt021

Oh well, I guess that's better than just one side on....

you are using your USDM turn signals in the JDM headlights right?

If so this is odd.. it's just really plug it in and it should work.

Now, they just stay on regardless of the position of the parking light switch. They function as they should other than that. It's just that they do not turn off, lol.

My fog lights were wired to stay on with the high beams by the previous owner. I'm thinking that it might have something to do with it, but honestly, I have no idea aside from that.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is confused. :smt030

so they stay on when the switch is on the off position? did you push that botton on the top on the steering colum?

That would be the parking light switch I referred to, yes. Either position makes no difference. They go off when the headlights are switched off or the vehicle is turned off completely, but they remain on when the headlights are on.

I don't know if I fully understand your reply. With my USDM headlights, the orange turn signal bulbs were both on at the same time, not blinking, if and only if I had the Parking Lights switch engaged on top of my steering column. Now I have no control over them, and they are on if any type of headlight-assembly lighting is switched on.

My reformed question is this: is this normal for JDM headlights? Or is it something that got bumped/miswired as I installed mine?

Thanks.

im confused. these are my questions
1) your turn signals are blink when you have it selected to the parking light or headlamp setting on the switch?
2) the parking lights are constantly on?
3)if blinking do they blink the arrow on the cluster?
