i am pretty sure this is the only legacy forum i signed up for...i honestly don't remember if i signed up elsewhere, but i certainly do not post there regularly. two of those first three pictures won me dirtiest impreza of the month over on dirtyimpreza.com, though :)

hey strat! my legacy is still broken right now, so I haven't made any rallycrosses :smt009 i didn't work on it over the winter, and just haven't gotten around to it yet this year. i have to find a junkyard with some of these parts...i will never do another wheel bearing myself on that car, just the STi bearings that bolt on and off. i can't believe how much other stuff I broke along the way.
but i did make several track days so far. have a new RCE T0 suspension coming in and a new set of rotors and ducts. new set of tires ready to go in the basement. :smt023

this is the 4th time I heard about wheel bearings and muddy water...
Subaru wheel bearings = weak?
a group at USMB about 5 of them went out and 3 came back with wheel bearings that needed to be replaced. :-/

I would say that I have been abusive towards my wheel bearings, but one the driver's side front one went well before I ever did a rallycross or deep water crossing. the 5x100 wheel bearings do seem to be one of the weak points in the drivetrain. fortunately, on all (or most?) newer subarus, the wheel bearings are bolt on, so the replacement is much easier.

hmm I wonder when they made the switch to bolt on wheel bearings. heh that's all I heard on NASIOC was about replacing the wheel bearings and what a PITA job it was.
