Paranoid Fabrication Saggy Butt remedy?

I ordered the Paranoid Fabrics 1/2" rear spring spacers for my 97 BK wagon. I was wondering has anyone here experienced anything good or bad about them? IE. Noises, smoother ride etc...???

You will not get any noises or smoother ride out of these. They are simply to space the suspension down a bit. I have the 1/4" spacers on my 2.5RS autoX car to avoid rubbing.

I understand that they're for raising the rear only. I just wasn't sure if in time, I'd have an annoying creaking sound.

Ah, well mine have held up to over a year of AutoX abuse as well as an 800 mile trip with the car completely loaded down with people and stuff. Now I am driving the car nearly 100 miles a day with no issues.

I've had mine on (to lift the rear up slightly because of the larger tires) for a few months now, and I have no noises. I stupidly bought the wrong ones, so I took Mr Dremel to them, but they still work great, customized and all.

what are these made of anyway? Only thing I'd be worried about is a degradation with road salts...

I have the 1/4 ones on my BD.

I was not satisfied with the outcome, since no one have them on their BDs....I was the guinea pig. They didn't raise my BD too much, not even any noticeable difference. I'm not sure with the 1/2 ones and on the wagon.

They do not make any noise or provide any comfort, they are just hard plastic looking spacers.. . I've had them for over 1k+ miles or so and no problems with it.

You might have to extend your studs. I know that 1/4 left just enough room to tighten down the nut.

Have you gotten your suspension off the car? measure the stud length/size and try to match it with whatever stud or bolt that'll fit. I would say it might need to be an extra 2-3" longer than stock studs.

A 2-3 inch longer stud? I wouldn't go that crazy unless you don't want rear setbelts in a BD, and studs sticking through the rear mount caps on a wagon.

My WRX rear struts by nature have longer studs than the stock BD struts have, but if I remember right there wasn't much room for more than a 1/4 spacer. With the WRX struts I have nearly an inch of extra stud, but they are DAMN CLOSE to the seatbelt retractors. Couldn't even fit a nut over the top without shoving the strut back down.

Shouldn't be a problem in my wagon when I swap them, and I'll be going with the 1/2" spacers.

so which spacers did you guys order? i know the wrx onces will work but for 02-03 or the 04-07 ones

I've got 02/03 WRX top hats and yes, I have had my suspension off the car. I did the entire swap myself. Fun fun fun! :roll:


I didn't re-order yet, due to them not being in stock. I'm gonna try to fab up a set or mod a set I have for my XB. Yes... XB. :lol:

If it sits right (I believe the Scion's are 1/4) I'll go from there. I won't leave them in, it'd be for me to better make a decision on which to order the HDPE in that size.

Sorry to bring this thread back up from the dead, but along with the camber bolts I just picked up from Decke, I was itching to think that maybe the addition of the saggy butt spacers wouldn't be too bad an idea.

This is of course, after rolling my fenders and acquiring the camber bolts to AVOID having to get the spacers. I haven't installed the camber bolts yet, but I expect to try to squeeze -1.0 degree in the rear. --Note: After rolling the fenders, rubbing really only came from the rear when taking a corner REALLY hard [which was rare] or when having 1-2 passengers in the back, like 300-350lb worth of weight and driving around town taking turns at moderate speeds.

Should I do camber bolt install and see what comes of it, or order some saggy butt spacers to do all at once along with it.

If the case is that I SHOULD. . . 1/4" , 3/8", 1/2" ? I have 04STi suspension bits so which spacers am I even looking at. Which is the biggest while being able to retain using all my current studs and what not.

pre-Edit Edit - I don't wanna start a whole new thread for something this small. I may PM Okin about it, but along with this big install, I wanna get my Whiteline RSB in but after my first attempt, 1 of the 2 bolts on the sway bar MOUNT sheared off. Whats the best way about getting the sheared threaded section out and being able to use it still. This is not to be confused with the 1 bolt on the sway bar bushing holder thing, which is on the sway bar mount.

3/8 is the most you can fit with stock legacy studs. i dont know if sti is and different?, -1.0 degree is stock camber in the rear, with the camber bolt you should be able to -1.5 degrees if wanted

I don't recall where i read it, but switching over to the STi struts in the back, since they're shorter than the Legacy was designed for, its actually pushing out my hub and creating unwanted positive camber. I don't know if thats the case, can anyone verify or explain?

My WRX struts did. That's why I had to put camber bolts in to adjust it back to negative. And it's not because they are shorter (even though they are), it's because the WRX has a wider track so the struts angle out more from the car.
