it seems my turn signal flasher sometimes flashes faster sometimes (clicking sound) and sometimes it does not..
but the speed seems to be fast overall... maybe it's just me but I don't know what a normal Subaru light flashes at.. 80 times a min?

Sounds like one of your bulbs is going bad. Does it only happen when using one indicator, like left vs. right?

bad bulb, bad connection, corroded, or the flasher

Yep, bad bulb. Go to the side that flashes slower, pull the socket and check the bulb base.

no.. no.. I know what it's like to have a bulb that blows.. the signal flashes twice as fast.. all my bulbs work.. it's almost a case of where you cant really describe it on the internet.
the turn signal on the dash flashes normal but the clicking of the contracts in the flashes seems to 'double click" I don't ever remember hearing my flasher do that in my impreza and forester

no. bad bulb base. corroded or loose connection. check them all first

You can still have a bad bulb base. I just replaced one in my car that was doing it. There was rust around the contacts that made the bulb have an erratic connection, made one flash slower if I had my park lights on, or quick if no lights were on.
Trust us. Pull the bulb and check the base.

 I will just say that when Liz had a brake switch fuse blow all the time, it was because the socket that her brake light bulb was going into was bad. I swapped it out with one I had and hey presto, no blown fuses all the time.

I think I may know what you're talking about...
I have a 2000 BH and sometimes, when I'm signalling at a slight left or right, rather than a 90 degree L or R turn, (as in holding down the stalk, rather than pushing it down until it clicks) instead of blinking at the normal rate, it blinks at twice the rate. Probably has something to do with resistance in the circuit, or rather lack thereof when the stalk is only depressed slightly. Maybe the switch touches two leads at the same time or something...
When that happens I just depress the stalk further and it blinks/clicks at thte normal rate.
If I depress the stalk all the way so that it clicks and sticks in the position that I'm turning, it never does it.
I hope this helps.

check to see if the left bulb is seated in the socket properly. thats all i can really think of.
