Broken Head Unit?

Ok, this is kind of obscure, but I have the Sony CDX-GT310 with an iPod adapter. The stupid headunit kind of annoys me though because it always resets where I left off on a song if it's playing from the iPod through the adapter (it forgets) and so every time I start my car I hear the same damn song which gets old. It remembers where it stopped on a CD though.

Could anyone lend a little insight? Is it just a really crappy head unit? Broken iPod adapter?

I've fiddled with settings but I can't find anything that helps.

I'd say it's a "feature" of the unit. At least, that's what Sony would say.

Yeah, I found it all really easy. I didn't think to read the reviews before I made this thread. But all the reviews say that it does the same thing and resets when you turn the car off :smt013

Oh well, I wish I had read the reviews when I bought it... at least it charges my iPod :roll:

I picked up a JVC deck, then stumbled on its adapter and while it's not the best interface, it will keep playing from the same point after turnoff.

If it's bothering you that much, find one that works better and sell what you have.

Yeah, I think I'm going to go with Pioneer, my friend has one that he likes and all the reviews are really good.

I have a Alpine 9856 headunit and I just got my ipod adapter in yesterday, when you turn off the car it just pauses the ipod then turns it off after your set amount of time..

When i turn it on again it wakes up and the headunit will say "searching" then it starts playing again where it left off at when you turned the car off.

I didn't really like any of the Alpine unit's, but that sounds reallllllly nice (especially compared to mine). Still pissed about it.

or...... you could buy a zune.... :smt023
