Hey all, just figured I'd pop in and intrduce myself!
I'm a subie tech in NH and I should be picking up my 98 Legacy GT wagon tomorrow. It'll be the first subie I've owned, but I've wanted one for ages now.
Hopefully I can post pics soon!

finally picked it up today, I traded my 1966 dart for it.
Unfortunately, it has a overheating issue (like alot of the subies ive worked on do lol) so I had it towed to the dealership....
PICS!!!

I'm pulling the engine this week and sending the heads out to see what I'm up against. The previous owner's "mechanic" told him that one of the heads had to be cracked to cause the frequent overheating. I think it may just be headgaskets, and hey why not reseal the engine and slap on a new timing belt right?

:smt023 Good find.
You work at a stealership, so why not go all out and do the waterpump and thermostat as well? Just a thought.
Anywho, I like it. Is it a 5MT?

^lol i am! it'd be pointless otherwise right?
i finally put the car up this morning, and good laaaaawwwwwdy was the exhaust hacked together...also there's quite a few oil leaks as well.
unfortunately it is a 4EAT trans. its the only auto I own out of my 4 cars :(
quick swap question: I have a friend who just swapped out his 2.5L out of his 2002 2.5rs, and was wondering what I would have to do wiring-wise to get that engine to work in my car just in case the shiza hits the proverbial fan with this motor.....he has all the harnesses for it.

Sounds like you wouldn't have a lot to do. I'm sure there are some differences. Try the swaps section and Member's Rides 1 for members who have.

also, as of 630pm last the night, the engine is out, and Ill be hopefully pulling the heads off to day to check for warpage and then re-assembly probably next week.
also also lol
I might be at the wicked big meet, but it depends on my friend getting his 2.5RS done....

the engine is torn down, the heads and block.....ARE NOT WARPED!!!!
therefore the car will be getting new headgaskets, as well as some other maintenance goodies and being put back together.
pics of the progress from last night to minutes ago.....and yes I cleaned and prepped the heads and block myself, no i did not send them out to a machine shop because it isnt necessary.

also, I found a kid on the legacy forums with a fender that has a small dent but is actually fixable, unlike the trashed one on my car now.
