Hi folks, just joined up out of interest. I subscribe to another Legacy forum - UKLegacy.com as I am a long time Legacy fan. I'm on my 3rd one now. It started with a Gen 2 2.2GX that I picked up for less than £400 ($700). I needed a car quickly at the time and it fit the bill perfectly. After that I moved on to a BF5 single turbo and had that for about 7 years. I did lots of miles in that and generally abused it. I eventually moved on to my latest variant, a BG5 GTB TT manual. I actually gave my old one to a guy on that other forum as it needed a lot of TLC which I had neither the time nor money to lavish then. It was still too good to just discard though, I still have a lot of fond memories of the old girl!

The 'new' beast is something else though. So much capability for such a low entry price! It costs a lot to run on fuel over here though, that coupled with the cost of just having the head gaskets redone, made me wonder 'why?' - of course, then I got it back from the shop and was able to drive it enthusiastically again - there was my answer!

I've picked up a fair amount of experience with these things and will attempt most jobs these days. I figured that between here and the other forum, there won't be much I can't find out about these vehicles.

If anyone feels I can be of assistance to them - even if it's just to explain some quirky 'Brit' ways, just drop me a PM, I'm happy to help.
